Generosity

Each of you must give as you have made up your mind,

not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

2 Corinthians, 9.7

The work of our family of churches is the result of many people, over many years, giving their time, skill’s, talents and money. Our hope is that every member is an active and involved part of our family including giving financially as they are able. Martin Luther said:

“People go through three conversions: The conversion of their head, their heart, and their pocketbook. Unfortunately, not all at the same time.”

Despite the Church of England being an Established Church, none of our churches receive any government funding. We rely on donations and goodwill to fund our programme of events, support of the wider community and keep our buildings comfortable.

We also arrange collections of gifts or money at times of crisis or emergency and for our Mission Partners. We have collected for Christian Aid, Yeldall Manor, Crisis, and CAP amongst others and have charity donation boxes for a local foodbank, milk bottle tops and stamps.
There are many ways you can give.

Give Time

There’s always something to become involved with no matter what your availability or skill and training is always provided. So if you are able to give some time, whether that is mid-week or on Sundays please email us at office@thru-christ.org.uk, letting us know when you are available, so that we can give you details of the current opportunities to get involved.

Give Financially

We encourage members of our church family to give monthly through standing order. Regular planned giving helps our churches to be better stewards of our resources. Information for each of the churches is given below.

Gift Aid

If you are tax payer, Gift Aid enables us to recover an additional 25 pence for every £1 you gift, without additional cost to you.
