Who are we?

We are one church family spread across three churches: St Mary’s Twyford, St James Ruscombe and Twyford United Reformed Church.  Together, we are the Twyford Church Partnership. We seek to share God's love in our communities.

We each have slightly different styles of worship, but the same love for the one we worship; we each represent different strands of Christian tradition, but share the same desire for ourselves and for other people: that we might come to know God better by getting to know his son, Jesus.

Most weeks we hold services in all three churches, coming together to worship in joint services on 4th Sundays. We share one church office which is the first point of contact for all enquiries including baptisms, weddings and funerals.

We work together as much as possible and share together in decisions for planning and mission. Our ministers work as a team and are all able to take services in all three churches, including presiding at Holy Communion. We have a Children's and Family Worker and a shared Pastoral care team.

Together, we seek to encourage one another as we follow Jesus and live out the message of the Bible, led by the Holy Spirit.

Do please come along to one of our services to see what this life looks like in the flesh.  We would love to meet you!

Inclusivity

Across our Twyford Church Partnership we aim to be a welcoming and inclusive. We want to actively encourage all people to flourish in all roles in our church. So no matter what your background, race, disability, sexuality, gender or gender identity  - you are welcome and safe here.

If you are physically impaired, neurodivergent and people with learning disabilities you belong here. We are trying to make our buildings as accessible as possible. Large screens are permanently installed at St Mary’s and the URC. We have hearing loops installed across all three of the Churches.

We are a diverse group of people with a wide range of views and experiences on a variety of different issues, but we believe there is beauty in diversity, and we are striving to be a place of unconditional welcome, where all people can grow, find purpose and have the space to encounter Jesus. We expect everyone to be generous and to hold those differing views with love, grace and mutual respect as children of God.

We are committed to doing better, to challenge where necessary and to genuinely welcome all.
