St Mary’s Church Heating Fundraising Campaign

January 6th 2014

Dear Friends,

Thank you for searching for more information about the St Mary’s Church Heating Fundraising Campaign. We are really pleased with how it has gone. The Polehampton Charity has pledged £20,000 and the regular congregation £14,000. With Christmas collections and one off donations we begin 2014 with about £10,000 still to raise to reach our £50,000 target. To that end we have approached a number of possible funding bodies for grants (the Louis Baylis (Maidenhead Advertiser) Charitable Trust has already provided £1,000).

However, recognizing the place of St Mary’s Church at the heart of our village, we are also seeking contributions from the wider local community. Below is a link to the leaflet which contains further information about the system, including  the breakdown of costs and information about how you can make a donation. We would really appreciate any help you feel able to give – no matter how small.

As you will see from this document, St Mary’s Church plays an important part in the life of the Twyford Community.  Although the current Victorian heating system has raised a lot of interest with English Heritage’s (see here for a picture and a description of one of the radiators), it no longer keeps the church warm! We plan to provide a warm welcome to the whole community for generations to come, any help you can give us to do that is greatly appreciated.

If you would like further information or to discuss the matter in more detail, please contact the Church Office.

Kind regards

Revd. Simon Howard
